Problem with incomplete interface in private area following upgrade from Spip 2.1.7 to 3.1

Dear Spip community,

a while ago i updated a spip site from version 2.1.7 to 3.1.

I used the spip loader for the upgrade. I did have an unexpected
problem --you do not have permissions problem which i sorted and then
completed the upgrade. The upgraded site works fine but i have a
incomplete or broken interface. The login page interface is gone, the
main page in the private area has problems with spacing, no icons in
the sub menu and when i go to the article the trypgraphical menu
interface with icons does'nt show up fully.

I need you help to figure how i can resolve this problem

-Harsh

Hi,

did you clear the cache (simply remove the directory cache/ ) ? Did you rename the directory plugins before upgrade ?
before using spip_loader, I move the directories ecrire, prive, squelettes-dist, plugins-dist, etc… into a backup directory.

.Gilles

Bonsoir Gilles,

Many thanks for getting back -- years of patient support from you and
oher members of the spip community' on it english list need all the
kudos.

I think i followed all the steps you describe but i may have obviously
erred somewhere. I have no back ups now (except for the sql back up
made before the upgrade). Is there a solution for making the icons and
the interface come alive again ?

guide me

regards
Harsh

Hi,

maybe the directory prive/ is incomplete. Sometimes spip_loader doesn’t do complelty his job.

Can you try to delete the new files on the server (ecrire, plugin-dist, squelettes-prive and prive) and upload the files of this archive : https://files.spip.net/spip/stable/spip-3.1.zip ?

If you still have a /dist/ directory, please move it elsewhere.

.Gilles

Dear Gilles,

I followed your instructions and all seems in perfect order now in the
private area interface.

thanks so much, your guidance and help by others on this list is very valuable
