Im apparently on one of those servers that keeps giving spip installs problems…
And after spending the weekend CHMODding all folders in the /cache-vignettes folder… Im getting curious…
I kept getting this error
Unable to change permission, file has different UID (398)
Since Im used to this problem I started CHMODding…
But before SPIP 3.0 It was « only » all og most files in /TMP ( delete, make new folders ( with same name ) CHMOD… in the right order… IF not… No working SPIP )
Now in SPIP 3.XX the CMS makes new folders everytime a file ( picture ) is generated…
Its not a problem… but on my server ( surftown.com ) all folders are
Unable to change permission, file has different UID (398)
so each and every time I need to:
load spip…
OK does not work…
go to
/cache-vignettes folder…
find the folder/folders that is httpd:httpd
delete this/thise folder/folders …
reload to find what new folder/folders SPIP made
CHMOD these ( usually one at a time + reload + ) ( that is: find folder, delete folder, MKDIR ( make new folder ) find folder ( now there are +1000 folders. select folder, CMOD folder )
Its quite time consuming…
SO Is there a way to make SPIP generate all files in one folder, and not in +1000 and/or is it a good idea to just make 100000 folders L1-1000x H1-1000 ) and CMOD all in one
In spip 3.xx I have had some of the same issues in /tmp folder…
Need to go 3-4 folders down and ( sometimes… !? ) CHMOD the folder in folder in folder, in the right order… especially XML folder is tricky… Its not possible to delete in my webshell so It has to be deleted via FTp.
That is also not possible…
BUT !!
You can change the name via FTP… so I changed XML to XML2 MKDIR, XML Chmod etc…
and it all worked again…
Right now Im CHMODdoing again… I was trying to change the size of the logo on the first page + resume etc…
from 40 pix to 80 pix…
Now i Need to chmod all 6500 articles… since they have a logo … ( I did decide to make some folders locally. H80x(Lfrom 1 to 200)
Hope that i worx.
Just an update on my issues with the wery nice SPIP cms !!
kindly
Tom
