With or witout www

I just had a major crash with my spip 1.82b
It has been working wit out any problems for a long time..
Now it seems to "need" the www prefix, if i whant to contact my spip installation..
Is this a spip thing or is it my internet server ( ISP)
or is it something else..

btw
still working with the chrash, since I cant connect to /ecrire...
tried removing inc_connect and put it back..
tried installing ( after removing inc_connect)
found out the server would not let me install anything..
Reinstalled the same inc_connect and now the site workes, but no connection to /ecrire..

This is due to your DNS records, not to Spip. Normally, you can change
it in the administration interface of your domain name management. For
example what can be done is to redirect every
Free classifieds - yourdomain.com to Free classifieds - yourdomain.com.
This can also be changed in Apache parameters (the web server, so here
it's a configuration specified by your web hosting provider)

You should upgrade Spip to 1.8.3 : you would profit of some bug
corrections, and a fresh install will certainly resolve your problems.
As you are still in the 1.8 family, you don't need to update your
templates.

I suggest you to export your actual datas (either make a copy of your
database or export it through phpmyadmin (or any mysql management tool
that gives your ISP). This is important because when you make an
install on an existing spip database, some records are changed - so
sometimes it's hard to drawback.

Of course all this is possible only if you haven't changed/customized
the original spip files, because your modifications would be lost.

hope it helps,

.Gilles
