SPIP can handle variations of "squelettes" by section, by branch or
language.
As mentioned at the beginning of the reference manual and the
documentation on multilingualism, SPIP allows you to manage variants of
skeletons, language and some section only.
Different layouts
We may wish, for example, that all articles of a category have a different
layout: background color and text size different information relating to
the keywords highlighted, etc. Or that the content of a given topic is
presented differently because it corresponds to a different data type: for
example by listing all items by issue, including content that would be
short, rather than the latter followed by dates (...)
