[spip-dev] Server wide install ?

Hi yall,

New to SPIP stuff, let me first congratulate yall for the SO good work you've
done :-)))
Then... time for questions :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I'm wondering if there's a way to have a "server wide" set-up of spip ?
Meaning only 1 SPIP running, say, all users personnal sites (in
/home/userX/public_html/) and, casually others in /var/www/html/spipX/) ?
If not, where can I find infoz on the clean way to run different spip sites on
one server ?

Best regards

Tarax

Hi,

I'm wondering if there's a way to have a "server wide" set-up of spip ?

/home/userX/public_html/) and, casually others in /var/www/html/spipX/) ?

No, not really, except maybe by symlinking all files in the standard
distrib to a common repository.... To our knowledge nobody has tried
until now.

If not, where can I find infoz on the clean way to run different spip
sites on
one server ?

Each site can use its own database under MySQL, or you can also use
a single database by specifying a different table name prefix (see
instructions (in French ;-)) at the beginning of ecrire/inc_version.php3).
The recommended way is of course to have one separate database per SPIP
site. Files created by SPIP (cache, images...) will go naturally into
each SPIP directory.

Antoine.
