I began to illustrate some articles with images. What puzzles me is
that I don't see any text I filles in for "Image title" and
"description" in the articles at front end. Did I mess with the setup
or is there yet another plugin? Where is the content of these fields?

Hi Barnie.

How do you embed them ? As linked images ? As linked Documents ?

If you link them as documents, do you use <embXX> or <docXX>

If the idea is to set up a portfolio with some pictures displayed in the
text of the article, i'd suggest to embed those images as document and to
use either <docXX> or <embXX>. <embXX> will display the image as it is
with no text below, while <docXX> will generate a thumbnail of it with all
description.

Then you can rectify this, editing your templates adding some extra #TITRE
(title) and #DESCRIPTIF (description) in your DOCUMENT loops

Hope that'll help :wink:

Zzz.

Dear Barnie,

It seems like your question is : i have filled the title and description and it
doens't show in my public page , am i right ? if that is then the second part
of Zzz. is your answer : adding #TITRE and #DESCRIPTIF in your loop whether
or not your feel like doing a "real portfolio"

Hi,

You can also create your own model, inspirating from /dist/modeles/img.html
This enables you to create specific tags for the private area. As you
can see, the <img> model is a loop over spip_documents.

As example, try this :

imgcomplete.html (in squelettes/modeles)

<BOUCLE_document (DOCUMENTS) {id_document}>
<div class="imgcomplete">
[<h4>(#TITRE)</h4>]
<p><span class='spip_document_#ID_DOCUMENT spip_documents[
spip_documents_(#ENV{align})][ (#ENV{class})] spip_lien_ok'[
style='float:(#ENV{align}|match{left|right});[
width:(#LOGO_DOCUMENT||largeur)px;]']><a
href="[(#ENV{lien}|sinon{#URL_DOCUMENT})]"[
(#ENV{lien}|?{'',type="#MIME_TYPE"})][
title="(#TITRE|texte_backend)"]>[(#LOGO_DOCUMENT||inserer_attribut{alt,#TITRE|strlen|?{#TITRE
{#TYPE_DOCUMENT},#TYPE_DOCUMENT}})]</a></span></p>
[<div class="imgcomplete_desc">
(#DESCRIPTIF)
</div>]
</div>
</BOUCLE_document>

Then in your private area you will be able to use
<imgcomplete324|left>, <imgcomplete52|center>,
<imgcomplete743|class=myClassName|lien=mailto:bob@bob.com> etc..

An explanation of the models is here : Utiliser les modèles - SPIP
(sorry, not translated yet)

Note : requires Spip version 1.9.1 or more

Hi and thank you for your answers. Sorry to be a bother. I am afraid I did not understand what a portfolio is good for anyway. I understood so far that images are always linked to articles (or news items) they have been linked to in the 1st place.

Well, now I read the help item "Inserting images in the text". Should have done that before.

It says:

If you entered a title and/or a description, the code <img...> is replaced with:
- <doc1|left>
- <doc1|center>
- <doc1|right>
These shortcuts are used in the same way as above;

That works with me. However,

however, when you insert such a “shortcut”, SPIP inserts not only the image but the title and the description that you previously entered. Thus, your image appears with the eventual explanation, copyright notice, the name of the artist etc.

that's what does not work with me. Did work in some spip 1.8.x. At hat time I did not pursue that subject.

Sorry, next approach: My text is obviously produced in this division of the script,

  <BOUCLE_article_principal(ARTICLES) {id_article}{doublons}>
  […]
  <div class="texte">
  (#TEXTE|image_reduire{520,0})
  <small>[(#DATE|affdate{'j.n.Y'})] [ <:par_auteur:> (#LESAUTEURS)]</small>
  </div>
  […]
  </BOUCLE_article_principal>

If I follow Zzz advice,

Then you can rectify this, editing your templates adding some extra
#TITRE
(title) and #DESCRIPTIF (description) in your DOCUMENT loops

I would have to alter #TEXTE in the cited code?

Marko

You are absolutly right..

This is due to a specificity of <img> : <img32> searches for the
document 32 (and it's not detailed in the model img.html). That's why
for an <img> the loop over documents works.

This is not the case for a own-made model, where you need to specify
parameters passed throught #ENV

So my solution works with <imgcomplete|id_document=2144> inside the
text of the article and the model

Your solution also works, but it's for another reason :
As explained in Utiliser les modèles - SPIP :
"<img1|classe> ira chercher le modele modeles/img_classe.html, si ce
fichier existe, sinon utilisera le modèle modeles/img.html, mais avec
un paramètre class="classe"
That can be translated into
"<img1|test> will search the model img_test.html or will be a <img>
with the classname 'test'"

Your approch is a great idea, and I think better than mine !!

Thanks for your feedback : it helps to better understand models.
