How to make a squelette

Im not the most expierienced programmer, so there4 this quistion:
How do i make a squellette..
or find an explanation in english..
do i need to know at lot of php or some other language..
( or is there just a spip page somewhere, that U think I might understand)

all the way down to ..
do I need to make a folder, or do I NOT need to make a folder..called squellettes!?

The reason is that im trying to use "open publishing"..

On the explain pages it says ..

paste
<a href="#URL_PAGE{publication}">Publiez un article</a>
somewhere ( did that )

and make a squellette !!!!

how do I do that ???
Is it a .html page ???
or
is it a folder with 20 pages in it ??

anyway I made page called publication.html and a folder called squelettes and squellette and Squellette and Squellettes
Didnt work.
So I put it in the dist folder, and now it works
kinda..

It opens the right page ( i think) /spip.php?page=publication
as eplained here
http://www.spip-contrib.net/Plugin-Publication-Ouverte

But If i write something into it, it just doestn go anywhere..
If i try to previsualise ( it does that, but the pages takes me NO where
just reloads
/spip.php?page=publication
And from there, there is no way to go ?

I guess its a combination of me NOT understanding squellette..
I can see that spip likes to load such a page..
so if there are any explaining pages somwhere plz direct me, and I will try to learn..!
kindly
Tom

Hi Tom,

no, you don't need any PHP-Code (you can use it, but SPIP works fine without)

last month I found a website with a very good tutorial both for admins and editors:
http://www.spipmedia.net/

In the section "webmaster level" you will find a short tutorial about the basics of the templetes (squelettes).

The "offical help" has some useful sites as well, where you get basic Infos about the templates:

But I've no experience with the Openpublishing-Plugin, so I can't help you very well with that.

But with the two links above you should be able to understand the basic architecture of SPIP. If not: every question is welcome....

Heiko
