Everyone else must have got this as I’m the only person posting about the subject, but I just don’t get how the Forum work. I understand the selection criteria & loop tags, but I don’t get how you start threads in the first place. Do you have to publish an article/news item? How do you keep it separate from the rest of your articles - by putting them in a new section? I’ve been experimenting with these but with no success so far.
Taking an example from the ‹ Inside SPIP › section, can the end result look like this?
If so, how?! Is there a tag for people to register or is it an optional function? Many thanks…
The froums in SPIP don't look like your example, they are contributions to articles, which means you need to create an article in order to attach a forum to it.
You have to activate the forums in the "site administration section", "interactivity" page. And you can disable the forums for each article from the box "forum and petition" in every article's page.

We have a brand new forum made with spip that might interress you. It’s for now shaped like a phpBB one so that people can understand how the loops are used.
