To publish your site on the Web, you must have it hosted on a web server
on the Internet. But in the meantime, you may want to make a few tests and
tweaks without being bothered by a slow Internet connection, and avoid
having your future visitors admire your first attempts too soon. The
solution is to host your own small “web server” on your personal
computer, for your private experiments. This is called “working
locally”.

For users who have a PC running Windows, the simplest way to experiment
with SPIP is to install EasyPHP on their own computer.

The site "Ecran de Bureau" provides, on SPIP-Contrib, a PDF file with
